Ubuntu Mundo South Africa

Formed in 2016 in South Africa, Ubuntu Mundo South Africa runs small-scale, high-impact programs that nourish children and strengthen communities. In the villages of Bodlayabongolo and Bolla Tau, we operate a community garden, two kitchens, daily feeding program, and after-school activities that offer children more than just food—a space to learn, play, and grow. To support this, we run a commercial farm as a social enterprise, creating jobs and generating income that supports our programs and drives long-term sustainability. All profits from the mission-driven farm go to supporting and growing our feeding programs.

Ubuntu Mundo Netherlands

Our Netherlands office plays a vital role in coordinating international support, building donor partnerships, and aligning global strategy. It works closely with our South African team — who implement our programs on the ground — and our U.S. partners, who help grow awareness, mobilize resources, and expand our global reach. Together, these teams form a united movement to end child hunger — one meal, one child, one community at a time.

Business Plan & Statutes

Friends of Ubuntu Mundo

Inspired by the example set by Cecilya Bravo and Roland Oosterhout, Friends of Ubuntu Mundo was formed in 2019 to support the work of Ubuntu Mundo.
Friends raises funds and builds awareness in the United States. It is a public charity recognized as tax-exempt by the IRS under Section 501(c)(3). It is an independent fundraising and grant-making organization, and all grants made by it to Ubuntu Mundo are for specific projects that Friends of Ubuntu Mundo confirms are in furtherance of our shared mission of feeding children.
